ClickHole – Internet & Digital Age Satirists – Free Thinker’s Bible
ClickHole, Free Thinker &Satirist
ClickHole was born when The Onion’s web team fell into a BuzzFeed-shaped wormhole and came out wearing ten layers of ironic glitter. A digital satire project that took the clickbait economy behind the woodshed and replaced it with a unicorn that screams ‘meaninglessness is power,’ ClickHole weaponized the shallowness of listicles, quizzes, and viral mush with such glorious absurdity that it became indistinguishable from the thing it was mocking. In a world where people actually click on articles titled ‘Which Taylor Swift Era Are You Based on Your Favorite Type of Sock?’ ClickHole leaned into the nonsense, shoved it off a cliff, and called it enlightenment. Its satire wasn’t just about mocking culture – it became a mirror reflecting the manic, dopamine-starved lunacy of digital consumption. Like a Monty Python skit in HTML5, ClickHole wasn’t trying to fix the internet – it came to worship its ridiculousness and crown itself the holy fool of algorithmic entertainment. It asked us to laugh not just at content but at the fact we can’t stop consuming it. A true freethinker’s circus of absurdity.
🧠 Rules for Free Thinkers from ClickHole
(ClickHole, Short. Sharp. Unforgivable.)
-
Question Everything—Especially the Questions
If the answer is obvious, you’re probably in a cult. -
Laugh at Authority
Power hates humor. So sharpen your wit like a guillotine. -
Offend Strategically
Be rude with purpose, not just volume. Satire isn’t trolling—it’s surgery. -
Think in Sentences, Not Slogans
If it fits on a bumper sticker, it probably belongs in the trash. -
Contradict Yourself—Loudly
Consistency is the hobgoblin of people who don’t read footnotes. -
Make Enemies You’d Be Proud to Roast
If no one’s angry at you, you’re doing it wrong. -
Mock the Mob, Even If You Agree With It
Bandwagons are just parade floats headed off cliffs. -
Be Funny First, Correct Second
Satire without laughter is just a manifesto in clown makeup. -
Burn Sacred Cows—Medium Rare
Every era has its idols. Your job is to cook them. -
Never Join a Revolution That Doesn’t Have a Joke Book
No punchline? No freedom.
